More home videos I've made of the Toyota Previa Mk1
Blog about mostly the first version of Toyota Previa. Previas are affectionately called "eggvans", "eggs", or "beans", because of their shape. They are reliable and fits in a normal swedish garage. Mid engine makes them very road worthy. They will become classics.. Toyota at it's prime; within the 90-era everything from Toyota was bulletproof, from the Lexus ls400 to corolla (including Starlets and Previa)

“It uses an after market pull tested swivel plate and the Original hing mechanism so the seat tilts back as normal for engine acees. It has raised the seat hight by about 20mm
Bit of welding required to produce a seat frame to sit on but no mods to the car and in theory could be bolted back as original - installation passed Mot and engineer ionspection - probably cost me about £100”
” No i didnt use the midlde seat mechanism they are too high - I booght an after market swivel base that was only about 30mm high.”
“Steel work was made from 3mm thick 25mm angle - Tacked with a mig and then welded properly with a Arc welder”

Toyota Previa rust and ODB1 diagnosis location, driver side
Checking rust on Toyota Previa from 1998. Removing plastic parts to watch under them. Also under the mat. Also showing the diagnosis, OBD1.
This Previa was bought in Sweden (EU). And I think sold with some extra rust protection for skandinavia, (salty roads in the winter)
Also showing Diagnosis, OBD1 port under driver seat.
I think you can use Toyodb1 on this port (have not tested it myself yet).
Engine: 2TZ-FE
Engine Controller, ECU: 89661-26660
Toyota Previa model year: 1998
Toyota OBD1 Logger
From Google Play you download the Android App TOYOBD1 from ZFApps. It uses about 8 Mb. You also need the OBD1READ device that you connect to your Diagnosis outlet (OBD1)
So what do OBD1 mean? OnBoard Diagnostics 1
Around 1996 OBD2 became standard in USA, some cars got it earlier. (USA was first, Europe not so much, 2001 EU joined with EOBD. My Previa from 1998 do have OBD1)
Check out which engines are supported who has OBD1:
